Bertinoro

Legend has it that this town owes its name to Galla Placidia, daughter of Emperor Theodosius, who passing through these places, tasted wine served in a humble cup of terracotta said “ Not so rought cup you are worthy but deserves “to be drunk in gold” – “ di berti-in-oro”.

Place of ancient settlement, the village of Bertinoro still holds the charm of the medieval village with its majestic fortress which dominates the landscape, today home of the residential college and the only interfaith museum in Italy.
